Ryan Gosling Raised His Concern To USDA

Standing on behalf of PETA, the Barbie actor Ryan Gosling raised his voice against animal cruelty to USDA in 2011. Writing a letter to the Department of Agriculture, the actor leaped to the defense of chickens and turkeys on factory farms. Revolting against the foam-based extermination of killing birds, Gosling pleaded with USDA to revoke the cruel method.

The foam-based extermination method apparently kills birds most viciously by submerging them in foam and slowly suffocating their life out. Thus, standing against the 15 minutes of traumatic and panic-inducing process Ryan Gosling urged the USDA to use some less cruel alternative, approved by veterinary experts.

If dogs and cats were killed in this way, the person committing these acts would be charged with cruelty to animals,” Gosling wrote.

Thereafter, the Oscar-nominated actor earned his cape, by taking a step on birds’ behalf. Further, Gosling not only wrote to USDA but also urged KFC and McDonald’s previously, to adopt PETA-approved and proposed animal welfare reforms. Committing himself to animal advocacy and standing against cruel methods implemented by factory farms and fast food chains, the actor became a hero for animals.

In 2015, the Oscar-nominated actor’s wife Eva Mendes confirmed her diet and mentioned refraining from meat consumption. However, Ryan Gosling, who keeps his life notoriously private, never reflected upon his diet plan. “I don’t agree with factory farming here” Mendes mentioned and admitted that refraining from meat improved her health. But does this mean even Gosling follows a meat-free diet?

Speaking with The Independent in 2022, The Notebook actor did mention his favorite food. Reflecting upon the “one dish he’d eat for the rest of his life”, Gosling claimed, “Eva’s mom’s Arroz con leche” that feels like “an angel crying on your tongue”. While Arroz con leche is a Mexican rice pudding that is considered a plant-based delicacy, there’s no confirmation if the actor is genuinely a vegan.
