Soon after his magnificent performance across the several seasons of The Boys, the fans were eager to see Antony Starr in the MCU or DC. He has been repeatedly fan-cast as Reverse Flash in the DCU or Dracula in the MCU.

When a Booster Gold series was announced to be in development, several fans also speculated the Homelander actor as the titular superhero. The rumors gained more fuel when it was spotted that the actor and Gunn followed each other on Instagram. On top of that, scooper @MyTimeToShineH also reported that the lead actor for Booster Gold is confirmed.

But now it looks like the rumors may be false as the 48-year-old has stated to ComicBook (via @DC Film News) in an exclusive interview that he may not join the DCU soon. He praised James Gunn as a filmmaker but hinted that Homelander will be his only superhero role for now.

Me and James just play golf. If it ain’t milk, I ain’t doing it honey. I cannot wait to see what he does with the DC Universe. I think he’s a phenomenal director, producer, talent. He’s one of the biggest brands in the industry, so I’m excited to see what he cooks up.

While some fans may argue that he might be pulling off an Andrew Garfield move here, another section also agreed that he can make a better Reverse Flash than Booster Gold. Moreover, with The Boys being renewed for a fifth season, Starr may not join the DCU so soon.

After the massive success of the first three seasons and the spin-off shows, The Boys will soon be back with Season 4. The unhinged superhero series is set to mark the return of Homelander, Billy Butcher, and the others this June. Interestingly, we will get to see more from the series as it is also renewed for Season 5.

Although we would not want the show to be unnecessarily dragged and end without a meaningful conclusion, showrunner Eric Kripke admitted to Screen Rant that “some crazy sh-t’s been talked about” for Season 5.

Now it remains to be seen if the show goes beyond the 5th season or ends soon so that we may spot Antony Starr as Reverse Flash or any other role in the DCU. Andrew Garfield’s No Way Home interviews taught us that we should not believe any statements by superhero actors. It will be exciting to see if the Booster Gold rumors are true and if not then who can be seen in the role.

The Boys Season 4’s first three episodes will premiere on Amazon Prime on June 13, 2024.
