She recounted a situation early on in her career where she was the victim of unwanted advances from someone in authority on set.
“I kept deflecting it with humor, and it didn’t work. Finally, I said, ‘Please, just fire me.’ It was a lesson. After that, I tended to remove anything that could be misconstrued as sexual. I locked it down.”
But it’s not just her own experiences that have made Bullock a champion for women in the industry. She has also been vocal in supporting the women who have come forward with their own stories of harassment and abuse.
“I only heard what Harvey wanted people to hear, and that made me so f**king angry. Harvey wanted you to think that [his victims] slept with him. They didn’t sleep with Harvey. Harvey wanted you to think that.”
Bullock also revealed that she had stood up for a woman who had won a part in a film, only to be accused of sleeping with Weinstein to get the role.

Despite the courage of these women, Bullock admits that she was scared when the first few came forward.
“I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is amazing, but f**k, f**k, f**k, what if it doesn’t work? Please God, let it not swing the other way.'”
But Bullock is not just a champion for women in the industry – she is also a fierce defender of her safety on set. On the set of her Netflix film Bird Box, Bullock made it clear to her male co-stars that she would not be messed with.
“In the end, I said, ‘I know you’re scared, but I feel safe, so you can make some jokes now. But if you cross the line, I will f**k you up.'”
The actress, who won an Oscar for her performance in The Blind Side, has always been known for her tough-as-nails attitude. But her latest revelations show just how much of a trailblazer she truly is.
