The actor says that he dreams about a particular scene he is too nervous to do and his dreams motivate him to do those scenes in real life. His latest movie, Dream Scenario, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 9, 2023, and is scheduled to be released by A24 on November 10, 2023.
Nicolas Cage says that he was blessed with these 5 movie scripts
In his latest interview with The Guardian, actor Nicolas Cage got candid about his career. During the conversation, the actor revealed that these 5 scripts were a blessing as they were perfect and required no changes: Dream Scenario (2023), Adaptation (2002), Raising Arizona (1987), Vampire’s Kiss (1988), and Pig (2021). The actor also revealed that his dreams motivate him to do his scenes,
“If I’m stressed about how to play a scene, I’ll ask for a gift from my dreams,” adding, “Sometimes I’m so nervous about not having any hook on a scene that I’ll go to bed and dream about it and then I’ll get some residual feeling that I can apply to the performance.”
He also recalled the time he had a dream about a two-headed eagle and the next day, some guy called his manager to ask if he was interested in buying a two-headed snake. The actor couldn’t say no, explaining that it was a “wonderfully bizarre” experience.
The actor also opened up about becoming an internet meme
Later in the conversation, Cage expressed his views on the iconic memes that were made about him on the internet. He said,
“I might have been the first actor who went through a kind of meme-ification,” adding, “One person had cherrypicked from all these different movies where I was having meltdowns but without any regard for how the character got to that place. I was frustrated because I didn’t know what people were taking from the movies other than that.”
The actor pointed out that people who make those memes didn’t understand how much effort he put into those characters. It baffled him that people were making jokes about those serious characters. Cage has starred in over 110 movies throughout his four-decade-long career and has many more projects lined up. As for retirement, Cage doesn’t even think about it.
