As a member of the new generation of the Hollywood talent pool, Florence Pugh has made a name for herself as a bonafide addition to the industry with back-to-back superhits as well as critically-acclaimed film projects. She made herself a household name with her appearance as Yelena Belova in the Marvel Studios’ Black Widow, with many more appearances yet to be made in the MCU in the future.

While she might now have invested herself in a plethora of different projects in the industry, Pugh still is a newbie to the MCU as she gears up for her next appearance in the upcoming Thunderbolts. But despite her character making an appearance, she feels like her time with her co-star Scarlett Johansson was a short one, she feels a little disappointed about the fact that she might never get another chance to work with her in the MCU again.

After her appearance in Marvel Studios’ Black Widow made an impact on the audience worldwide, Florence Pugh has started to walk her way to becoming one of the dominant forces within the Hollywood industry. But that time she spent with co-star Scarlett Johansson was special as the film provided her an avenue to showcase her talents while also making a connection with the Lucy star. Thus, she felt a little down when she realized that her time with Johansson was over in the MCU before it truly began.

In a recent interview with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the Midsommar star talked about how she was taking over the industry by featuring in many modern-day classic films and/or franchises. Then, shifting gears, the host asked how it felt to be working with Marvel Studios on their upcoming Thunderbolts project. Here, Pugh revealed that despite her enthusiasm to be part of the MCU family, she misses Johansson’s character in the franchise, at the same time, little sad that she would never get a chance to see Black Widow again. She said:

“Aw, don’t. I know. I’m already feeling sad about it. I know. It’s so weird, because I did a movie with her, and her character obviously had already passed. And so it’s like false hope, really. Yeah, I just got pulled in and then it was like, ‘Nope, you’re never gonna do that again.’”

Although the reality of Natasha Romanoff’s death might still be a hard pill to swallow, accepting and moving on to her next project as Yelena Belova would be the way to honor Black Widow’s legacy.
