There’s no denying that Ellen DeGeneres has been trolled and criticized over the years for her behavior around A-listers. Often making her guests uncomfortable, DeGeneres even got her show canceled over time. However, one guest whom the host couldn’t affect was Tom Cruise.
Appearing on The Ellen Show, Tom Cruise had a memorable time. But unfortunately like everyone, even he faced discomfort and a difficult situation being on the show. However, without losing his calm and composure, the actor tackled the awkwardness like a professional.
Ellen DeGeneres’ Awkward Questions For Tom Cruise
Ellen DeGeneres has been hosting her talk show since 2003, with celebrities appearing to promote their projects. Among many first guests, DeGeneres had the Hollywood A-lister Tom Cruise appear on The Ellen Show to promote his movie The Last Samurai.
But even since the inception of her show, Ellen DeGeneres has been making her guests uncomfortable with her behavior and questions. Much like every time, the host tried her best to create an awkward situation for Cruise by throwing some random and awkward questions.
Asking questions like “favorite song to boogie to” and what he prefers to wear “boxers, briefs, or nothing at all” Ellen DeGeneres threw some random questions. And Tom Cruise became visibly uncomfortable with the host’s curiosity in his below-the-belt business.

Tom Cruise Tackled The Awkwardness Like a Professional
However, without losing his calm, Tom Cruise tried playing along and quipped, “At which point in the day?” Despite witnessing the actor’s awkwardness Ellen DeGeneres didn’t change the topic and asked him what he was wearing on the show. To which Cruise revealed that he was wearing briefs.
Making things a bit normal and casual, Cruise tried changing the topic, but Ellen DeGeneres was hellbent on learning about the actor’s underwear business. Navigating the conversation towards his R-rated comedy Risky Business where he shows off his moves in his underwear, DeGeneres asked about his dance moves.
While explaining the scene, the host tried embarrassing Tom Cruise by persuading him to show off the moves like he did in the movie. Realizing DeGeneres’ interest, Cruise remarked, “I’m going to leave my pants on”. Handling the situation like a professional, the actor yet again returned on the show, in 2006.
