The long-running franchise, James Bond has always been the most sought-after destination where actors from different generations want to get to. In order to play the baddie in a Bond film, an actor often has to be enigmatic.

Actors like Christopher Walken (A View to a Kill), Sean Bean (GoldenEye), Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale), Christoph Waltz (Spectre), Javier Bardem (Skyfall), and Rami Malek (No Time to Die) have all played troubled and enigmatic villains.

Now, as the chapter on Daniel Craig’s 007 has closed, enthusiasts await the announcement of another star who would take on the mantle of James Bond. But before we have that, Margot Robbie’s Suicide Squad co-actor has expressed his desire to play the villain in a Bond film. It isn’t John Cena.

The actor has, over the years, played supporting roles in both DC and Marvel films. With Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, David Dastmalchian has ushered himself in a new direction.

David Dastmalchian On Playing James Bond Villain

Playing Polka-Dot Man in James Gunn’s Suicide Squad (2021), Kurt in Ant-Man (2015), and now William L. Borden in Oppenheimer, David Dastmalchian has climbed up the ladder at a healthy pace.

Talking to Slash Film, Dastmalchian said big words and made his intentions clear on what he wanted to bring to the table should he ever get hired to play a James Bond villain.

“You told Slash Film in a previous interview that one of your career aspirations is to play a villain in a Bond movie?” – asked Slash Film interviewer.

“Whoever is reading this, take it as a sign. Trust me when I say that I can bring something to an enemy of 007. I think there’s no one to push Bond to the limits of their capabilities the way that I could,” said Dastmalchian.

He also noted that he would “love to do it” and that if the makers would notice his interview, he would owe Slash Film one if he ever gets that role.
