Harington, who was involved in many intense action scenes with his pivotal character of Jon Snow, ironically endured one major accident outside of the show that impacted his role. But there was one more star who was even more accident prone, judging by the many injuries that he had over the years.

Kit Harington Suffered One Serious Injury That Affected His Game Of Thrones Gig

As the enigmatic Jon Snow in Game Of Thrones, Kit Harington became a huge heartthrob with fans all around the world. The actor who played a major part in the series’ success, was involved in many intense action scenes of battle that required him to go through arduous physical training.

While one would assume that the celebrity would have endured quite a few injuries while training for the role, Harington ironically faced one of his worst accidents that had nothing to do with the Game of Thrones set.

The British actor in an interview with EW, elaborated on what began as an embarrassing comedy of errors, which saw him locking himself out of his apartment. In an effort to get inside, he took a pretty rash decision of climbing through a window, leading to a bad fall.

I was an idiot. The ‘invincibility of youth’ and all that. I couldn’t even blame it on a film set.

This accident turned out to be not only detrimental to Harington, but also for the series. The injury forced the makers to reschedule the actor’s scenes to allow him to recover. This also included modifying his costume for him to get into it without pain, as explained by costume designer Michele Clapton in another interview with EW.

This Game Of Thrones Star Gave Kit Harington Stiff Competition With Injuries

If Kit Harington’s injury outside his apartment can be considered freaky, another Game Of Thrones actor isn’t far behind when it comes to courting injuries. Rory McCann who played the towering and rough Sandor Clegane in the blockbuster show, is a self-confessed connoisseur of the outdoors. The actor is known to be an avid rock climbing enthusiast.

But as is the nature of the sport, McCann has endured many serious accidents during his adventures with climbing. One particular encounter almost cost him his life in 1990 when he had a 70 foot fall from a cliff. McCann though, has taken these heart-in-the mouth-moments in his stride while admitting that he lived life on the edge. In an interview with The Daily Record, he said,

I mean, I have a few bumps. I’m in plaster nearly every year. I’m a bit like that.

Despite these constant setbacks, the actor revealed that nothing stopped him from being the adventurous person that he was. This included giving it his all in the action scenes of Game Of Thrones, despite limping through his injuries.
