Her experience with the drama film prompted her desire to return to comedy films, as she shared during an interview with Q’s Tom Power. “I’m never doing a drama again,” she said, as per CBC before adding, “I just want to do my comedy. I’m going back to comedy.”
The actress asserted that not only does she enjoy working in comedy films, but they also bring joy to audiences. She also noted that despite the significant time and effort required to make comedies, these films often do not receive the same level of recognition as dramatic movies.
I guess making someone cry is far more important than making them laugh — It really requires a village to make comedy work, at least for me… I need a great partner opposite me to play ball with.
Since The Unforgivable, Bullock has returned to comedy, with the 2022 film The Lost City. While she has other projects lined up, including a potential sequel to Bird Box, the prospect of a Speed 3 with Keanu Reeves presents an enticing opportunity for her to further explore comedy alongside a perfect on-screen partner.
Speed 3 Could Fulfill Sandra Bullock’s Desire to Return to Comedy Films
