Then, the host asked about how his experience going to the San Diego Comic-Con for the first time after becoming Kylo Ren. The star sighed and answered that he didn’t enjoy his trip to the convention, on the contrary, he was so shaken by the experience that he would never want to go back. He said:

“No.” You probably wouldn’t have liked it either if it meant being trapped in your hotel room. I didn’t know the rules of Comic-Con, I got in at the hotel at two in the morning…and I’m like, ‘Maybe tomorrow I’ll go get a coffee.’ And they’re like, ‘Oh no, you can’t get a coffee.’ I’m like, ‘Well, maybe I’ll get a coffee in the hotel.’ They’re like, ‘No, you can’t get a coffee in the hotel.’”

While he might’ve had experience with big fandoms before, the sheer magnitude of the Star Wars fandom is something that many people don’t get until they witness it for themselves.
