Smith was last seen as Detective Mike Lowrey in the 2020 film Bad Boys For Life and is expected to return in the fourth installment of the series. Talking about the 2020 film, the actor shared that he decided to do his own stunts in the movie and was pretty confident about it.
He even went on to claim that he felt he would be better than the action star Tom Cruise. However, it did not take more than two stunts for him to realize that he was no match for the Mission Impossible star.
Will Smith Thought He Was Better Than Tom Cruise
Hollywood star Tom Cruise is not only popular for giving blockbusters movies and performances, but the 60-year-old actor is also known for doing extreme stunts in his films. Whether it’s hanging from a plane or scaling the tallest building in the world, Cruise has done it all.
And he is all set to add on to the list by jumping off a cliff in the next Mission Impossible movie. However, the 54-year-old star Will Smith believed that he was better than Tom Cruise while working on his 2020 film Bad Boys For Life.
During his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, he shared that the film had a “couple of the action sequences.” The Men in Black star also shared that he was confident that he could pull them off without any doubt.
He shared that he believed he was “better than Tom Cruise” and could do his action sequences, like Cruise, who was “hanging on the side of an airplane at 50.” However, he quickly realized that he might not be right about that.
Will Smith Got the Reality Check
While he believed that he would be able to perform all his stunts as smoothly as Tom Cruise, he was unable to keep up just after performing two stunts. And it led him to admit that he is not better than the Top Gun star. He said,
“And I did like two stunts, and I was like, ‘I’m not better than Tom Cruise!'”
Both the stars were known to have a good relationship and were even close friends. However, things have changed among them over the years. The reason behind this is uncertain, but it is believed that the Knight and Day star does not want to associate with the King Richard star and the bad press surrounding him.
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence announced the next Bad Boys film earlier this year and are set to come back in their respective roles in the fourth installment of the action-comedy film series.
