Sandra Bullock’s longtime partner, Bryan Randall, who had been with her since 2015, passed away on August 5 at the age of 57, according to his family. Although he kept it a secret, he had been battling ALS for three years, and complications from that illness were ultimately what caused his death.

Bullock, 59, and Randall got to know each other when he was photographing the actress’ son’s birthday in January 2015. Before changing his career to photography, the late photographer worked as a model. 

The American actress-producer had earlier married Jesse James for five years (2005-2010). Bullock divorced her ex-husband on April 23, 2010. Their divorce was declared legally final on June 28, 2010, citing “conflict of personalities” as the reason.

Bullock announced in 2022 that she would be taking a break from acting, citing a desire to spend more time with her late longtime partner, Bryan Randall.

Sandra Bullock has delivered cult favorites like Miss Congeniality, classic rom-coms like The Proposal, and critically acclaimed movies like The Blind Side over the course of her more than three decades in the business. The actress then declared that she needed to take a break.

However, the 59-year-old actress was said to have put her acting career on hold to support her long-time partner, Bryan Randall, as he fought ALS.

Many assumed that Bullock and Randall were having relationship problems when they saw her without him on the red carpet for her last movie, The Lost City, in which she co-starred with Channing Tatum.

She announced her acting hiatus while promoting the 2022 movie, saying that she just wanted to be “home”, but she made no mention of what was actually going on in her life at the time. Speaking with CBS Sunday Morning, the actress said:

“I want to be at home. I’m not doing anyone any favors who’s investing in a project if I’m saying, I just want to be at home. Cause I was always running, I was always running to the next thing. I just want to be present and responsible for one thing.”

Also, The Proposal actor previously revealed that The Lost City would be her last movie.

“And I don’t know what ‘a while’ is. I don’t know what that is.”

Bryan Randall Died At The Age Of 57

Bryan Randall, Sandra Bullock’s longtime partner, passed away at the age of 57 following a battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). His family recently confirmed the tragic news in an official statement given to media outlets. His family stated:

“It is with great sadness that we share that on Aug. 5, Bryan Randall passed away peacefully after a three-year battle with ALS. Bryan chose early to keep his journey with ALS private and those of us who cared for him did our best to honor his request.”

The statement went on to say:

“We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours.”

Additionally, the family requested “privacy to grieve and to come to terms with the impossibility of saying goodbye to Bryan.”

The Blind Side actress and the photographer first met in 2015 at the birthday celebration of her adopted son, Louis Bardo Bullock. As soon as they met, they bonded, and their relationship quickly developed.

Bullock claimed she had “found the love of my life” in Randall during a December 2021 appearance on Red Table Talk, despite the fact that they had mostly kept their relationship private. The actress last appeared in the Aaron and Adam Nee movie, The Lost City.
