The actress pointed out the same during her appearance on the popular chat show, The View, as she shared that she was once threatened with a lawsuit for refusing to do a s*x scene for an unnamed project.
Christina Ricci Talks About the Changes in the Industry
Throughout her career, Christina Ricci has portrayed several characters in a range of genres, and some of these characters have also been sensual. The actress has portrayed several such characters and has confidently done it when she wished to. However, it is not the same when one is pursued to do something even when it does not align with their comfort level.
During an appearance on The View, the Wednesday actress talked about how things have changed a lot over the years, stating that the young actors are able to deny it if they don’t want to do something specifically. She said,
“It’s amazing to see that they don’t necessarily have to go through the things we had to go through. They’re able to say, ‘I don’t want to do this s*x scene,’ ‘I’m not going to be naked.”
However, it was not the same when she was at the same age and was not allowed to set boundaries for herself. She also shared that it’s “great to see” the actors taking a stand for themselves and denying to do something that they are uncomfortable with. However, she was threatened with a lawsuit when she refused to do something she was not comfortable with.
Christina Ricci Was Almost Sued For Denying a S*x Scene
Further talking about the same, Christina Ricci stated although things were not the same before, she’s glad that the younger generation does not have to go through the things they had to go through. “They can set boundaries for themselves that we were never allowed to do,” she said before revealing what happened when she denied doing a s*x scene.
“Someone threatened to sue me once because I didn’t want to do this s*x scene in a certain way,” she revealed. The Emmy nominee also talked about the same during her appearance on Variety’s Actors on Actors as she stated that the incident happened while filming a movie. She also shared that despite the threat of being sued, she did not do the scene, and the production did not sue her either.
