Walton Goggins has no limitations whatsoever when it comes to his range and skill in film and television. With boundless untapped energy serving as a cushion, the Fallout actor truly gives back to society by tackling multi-colored projects spanning various genres. One such project, however, came dangerously close to insulting the incredible talent and hard work of his director and co-stars in the HBO satire, Vice Principals. And Goggins refused to take such an insult lying down.

Filmed in 2016, this American dark comedy series brings out Walton Goggins’ skills to deliver some of his career’s best moments. However, with enough time having passed between the series production and the political tides within Hollywood, the actor finally feels safe to take a stand on behalf of his co-stars and director to showcase how Hollywood failed them.

Walton Goggins‘ experience on the set of Vice Principals must have caused him more trouble than he had initially bargained for. The dark, satirical comedy has a more laugh-hearted tone pervading its atmosphere that fails to pay its dues concerning the actor’s co-stars and series director.

After recalling his time working on the series, Goggins claimed in an interview with the Independent:

“I have very strong opinions about it, and I’m not gonna throw HBO under the bus. But I think it is criminal that the contributions from Danny McBride and Jody Hill and [director] David Gordon Green in comedy and television have never been recognized by any formal institution. I think that is almost unforgivable really – and laughable, at this point. They’ve fundamentally changed the f***ing landscape of what a comedy could be.”

Although Danny McBride has carved out a fairly recognizable place for himself in the industry, the actor has remained largely barred to side characters with barely memorable arcs. Walton Goggins, on the other hand, evolves with every role he’s given and leaves an indelible mark in the industry wherever he happens to end up.

The tragedy of Vice Principals committing the unforgivable act of not bringing enough recognition for its stars and director is somewhat of a rule rather than an exception in Hollywood. There are numerous actors, directors, and other creative minds behind projects who go largely unrecognized and underutilized in the cut-throat business of the entertainment industry. However, Walton Goggins survives the slimy world of Hollywood to come out the other end a successful A-lister.

With Fallout being the latest in a string of critical hits, Goggins remains one of the few lucky names whose reputation alone holds more weight than most actors of the era. Described as one of the best character actors in the industry, Walton Goggins keeps charming the audience and capturing the attention whenever he steps into a frame. Luckily, the Texan has enough sense of honor and humility to use his position of privilege to call out the bias of the industry towards his fellow actors.

Fallout is currently streaming on Amazon Prime.
