As the art lies in the expression when it comes to the beauty of cinema, there are a lot of times when actors have to walk that metaphorical extra mile to honestly sell you the story of the film you’re watching. Many actors, like Australian star Margot Robbie, are famous for going that distance and even further to fulfill the role they have taken.

From extreme mental and physical transformations to risque scenes, there is nothing that has stopped the star from bringing her best performance to the sets of her films over the years. But still, there are some shots that seem to take a toll on you due to their extreme requirements from an individual. On one such occasion, Robbie had to endure an overwhelming sense of embarrassment while shooting for her most iconic film.

Most popular amongst the audience for playing the character of the maniacal Harley Quinn in the DCEU, Margot Robbie is no stranger to going off to extremes for creating an impact with her performance on-screen. Therefore, it’s no surprise that The Wolf Of Wall Street, the film that put her on the radar of Hollywood, was the film that demanded her to endure all the humiliation that comes with the expression of raunchy scenarios in films.

Many audience members might remember the infamous and quite popular scene from the film where the I, Tonya star tries to seduce and tease Leonardo DiCaprio‘s character inside a room. While the end product was risque enough, the original script demanded her to take off her underwear with the stilettos she was wearing in the scene. She later disclosed that although her denial to not do this shot was accepted, she still felt very humiliated and embarrassed while doing the altered one nonetheless. She said:

“It doesn’t come across when you’re watching the movie, but in reality we’re in a tiny bedroom with 30 crew crammed in, all men. And for 17 hours I’m pretending to be touching myself. It’s just a very weird thing and you have to bury the embarrassment and absurdity, really deep, and fully commit.”

Just goes to show how easy it is to look at something on-screen and forget just how much the actor has to do to make every action worth watching.
