However, a lot has changed since then, and the actor has become involved in several anticipated films here and there. While Argylle and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare were certainly interesting films, one specific film has piqued the audience’s interest a lot more.

Ever since it was announced that Cavill would be starring in the reboot of the iconic Highlander series, everyone has been curious about updates on what the film series is going to be like. However, there seems to be a sudden uproar among fans who want to leave the franchise well enough alone.

Henry Cavill’s Highlander Has High Standards to Meet

Adrian Paul’s Highlander series was certainly iconic in many ways. Releasing between 1992 and 1998, it gave way to an entire sub-genre of fantasy and became one of the most iconic series of the time. There have been several attempts to imitate the success that the series had, which was based on Gregory Widen’s iconic characters.

Ranging from movies to lengthy television shows, many tried to breathe life into Paul’s iconic series again in some way or another. Each being extremely impactful on its legacy. However, it would seem that Henry Cavill’s attempt may have a different time at the box office.

While not much is known about Cavill’s reboot of the iconic series, the little information that is out there is quite promising. Audiences are only aware that it is being written by Ryan J. Condal, who is the showrunner for House of the Dragon, along with other, extremely talented people.

Many fans who are loyal to Adrian Paul’s version of the series and the original series as a whole don’t think that Henry Cavill’s attempt will be worth the substance. They think that the series was good on its own, and there is no need to make it again in a similar fashion simply for the sake of making more money.

At the same time, many pointed out how Cavill would be the perfect person to play the role, and nothing shows this better than his work in The Witcher. The actor learned how to immerse himself in a fantastical environment set centuries ago. At the same time, he learned how to fight like a knight and use a sword in the most effortless ways possible.

Simply knowing how naturally he morphed into the role of Geralt makes it evident that he will do an excellent job as Duncan MacLeod as well.
