When Johnson gave up wrestling to pursue a career as an actor, Cena took a jibe at him. Since then, a conflict has existed between the two legendary wrestlers. Cena recently discussed his feud with Johnson and shared his feelings about it.

John Cena apologized to Dwayne Johnson’s mother

John Cena talked about his rivalry with Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock. The 46-year-old actor accepted that there has been a cold rivalry between him and The Red Notice actor for years, which led to many genuine emotions. The Peacemaker actor was very expressive about his thoughts about his rivalry with the 51-year-old actor. He also admitted that he apologized to The Rock’s mother, saying,

“Of course, there were ramifications, and it led to some genuine emotions between the two of us, but when it all began to melt away was when we decided the path of the match the day before. Dwayne could see not only how easy I was to work with but how adamant I was.… The moment the ice began to melt was right after the match when the first thing I did was apologize to his mom.” 

He further added,

“I said, ‘Being in the business, I hope you understand, I just wanted to sell tickets. I’m sorry if I made you feel a certain way, that was not my intention. But also, from my perspective, it was like a surprise party, where if I told you the gig, it may be would have ruined some stuff.’ She gave me a great hug and said, ‘Thank you.” 

Fans of Johnson and Cena praised the thoughtful actions of the Fast X actor. According to reports, Cena said that he had no idea how demanding an acting career could be.

John Cena and The Rock are on good terms now

Although Cena and the Black Adam actor had a lot of animosity toward one another, at WrestleMania 29 in 2013, Cena and The Rock fought it out once more in the ring. The Rock won for the first time and the second time Cena came out as the winner of the WrestleMania 29.

There were allegedly no ill wills between Cena and the 51-year-old actor when Cena started a conversation with Johnson’s mother. Since 2013, Johnson has not returned to the ring; instead, he has focused more on his acting career as a result of his success in Hollywood. The duo now share an amicable friendship.
