However, unlike its predecessor, Speed 2: Cruise Control went on to be one of the worst sequels of all time. It went on to be one of the biggest box office bombs of all time and garnered only a little over $160 million at the box office.

During an interview with TooFab, The Heat actress shared that she is still embarrassed about featuring in the 1997 film Speed 2. She said, “I have one [that] no one came around to, and I’m still embarrassed I was in.” She went on to say that the film she was talking about was “Speed 2” and that it made no sense.

Another Sequel Sandra Bullock Regrets Doing

Sandra Bullock has been quite open about the films she regrets doing, especially sequels. The actress seemed to have bad luck when it came to featuring in a sequel of her own movie. Apart from the 1997 film, she has done a sequel for her 2000 action comedy, Miss Congeniality.

The film featured her as an FBI agent Gracie Hart who enters a beauty pageant to prevent a threat surrounding the contest. The sequel follows Bullock’s character looking for her kidnapped companion in an undercover mission. However, it also ended up failing at the box office.

Talking about the film, she said, “[It] shouldn’t have been done.” One of the things she liked about the sequel was that she had the opportunity to work alongside Regina King, who portrayed her partner Sam Fuller in the sequel. Other than that, she only had one thing to say about the sequel, “That one should have remained a one-off.”

The Speed franchise is available on Hulu Plus.
