An incredible actor no doubt, Tom Holland remains largely absent from the public eye if we take Marvel out of the equation. It was his role as the web-slinger Spiderman that blew him up to the heights of popularity.

Tom Holland’s best-ranked movies are overcrowded by Marvel’s Spiderman and Avengers franchises and a few of his other projects make their way through to the top. With his fate in the Marvel universe put on hold for a while, he is back with Apple TV+’s The Crowded Room.

The Crowded Room is a psychological thriller based on the novel The Minds of Billy Milligan. A shocking and emotionally draining show, it has been receiving quite a lot of mixed reviews. While some hail Holland’s acting as deeply mesmerizing, others have been calling it out for its lack of pace and too much sentimentality.

The most tiring and emotionally taxing work he has ever done, Tom Holland has taken a year off of acting after working on The Crowded Room. While fans have been pouring support for his character, critics have been extremely brutal thanks to which the show has been labeled as the number 1 worst show. But the young Briton remains unfazed, as in an interview with UNILAD, the star said,

“It’s no secret that my show has been so horribly reviewed, but I’m here today to promote the show. I’m still here, so I’m very resilient.”

While the early reviews did knock him off at first, the Avengers: Endgame star remains optimistic. In a separate interview, he spoke of always having a healthy outlook.

“There will be good ones. There will be. I try to have a healthy outlook on all that sort of stuff and respect everyone’s opinion.”

If anything, Tom Holland has been right to remain optimistic, as subsequent episodes have led to the series’ ratings to rise up.

Tom Holland’s Career Outside Of Marvel

At the young age of 27, Holland is best known for being Spiderman. While his boyish looks make it apparent that he can keep on playing the friendly neighborhood superhero for however long he likes, the actor has the understanding that his career’s success and longevity ultimately lie outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

His first attempt at an action franchise with Uncharted was mediocre, despite the movie grossing over $400 million worldwide, but his other movies and shows remain nonexistent. While Tom Holland’s acting has been applauded in almost all of his projects outside of Marvel, it hardly helps solidify his career as a successful actor.

Among the many projects he has undertaken, the majority of Holland’s movies remain lesser known and badly rated. Projects like At the Edge of Winter, Chaos Walking, The Keeper of the Relic, War of The Currents, Cherry, In the Heart of the Sea, and Dolittle are among the worst-ranked Holland movies of all time. And if the rankings don’t increase anytime soon, seems like The Crowded Room would soon be on this list too.
