Dwayne Johnson Suffered a Serious Injury to His Abdomen

Dwayne Johnson is undoubtedly one of the most famed celebrities out there with hundreds of millions of fans from both the WWE and the Hollywood industry. Johnson entered the sports industry during his mid-20s and immediately dominated the ring, both through his performance and theatricals and because of this fans took a liking to him, enabling his rise to the top of WWE.

Though Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has never faced any career-ending situations in his life, an injury that he suffered in the ring might just have stopped him from having the perfect body, and perfect abs, just like a Greek God. An injury to his abdomen that required multiple surgeries, intensive care, and proper nutrition, hindered his six-pack abs.

“That is so f—– up, I tore the top of my quad off my pelvis in a wrestling match. That caused a chain reaction and it tore my abdomen wall. I had to do a triple hernia emergency surgery, so they’re not like perfect abs.”

During an interview with Wired, when Dwayne Johnson was asked why he does not have perfect abs, he laughed and replied that during his WWE days, he suffered an injury that tore off his abdomen wall, and for this, he also had to undergo emergency surgery. Furthermore, even after years of rehabilitation and proper care, this injury from back in 2013 prevents him from having perfect abs and perfect six-packs.

“We ain’t hard to find ~ workin’, I’m the last dude to give abdominal advice, but after I tore my abdomen wall during a wrestling match (fun pain) I had to really concentrate on ab exercises that strengthened my entire wall and core again ~ over the years I’ve found that a strong core/tight abdomen wall is super beneficial to your gains, work your guts”

Despite facing such a career-ending setback, Dwayne Johnson is not the one to step back, and slowly built his body back to its original shape through proper care and nutrition. Johnson’s most recent Instagram post shows the man himself working out his abdomen and building his physique every single day. Through the video that he shared, Johnson is trying to convey the message that no matter how hard the road may become, grinding hard every day will open up a path for one’s success.

Dwayne Johnson’s Upcoming Movie, Red One

Dwayne Johnson was the highest-paid actor in Hollywood at one time, racking up points never seen before, but his time on the throne was cut short by his consecutive box office failures, which were not only declared as his worst films but also received hatred from his fans and followers. Even after the actor teamed up with DC Studios, the multi-billion dollar comic franchise, his movie, Black Adam, got extremely poor reviews. With an estimated budget of $260 million, the box office collection was only $393 million. Although it cannot be deemed as a complete box office failure, taking into account the status of the actor, it definitely fell short in many aspects.

As this project is completely under Johnson’s work, high expectations have been set for it, and taking into account his previous failures, the Baywatch actor will definitely put special emphasis on this movie. With the theme for Red One set around Christmas, the movie will have many famed actors such as Chris Evans, J.K. Simmons, and others on the roster. Though no further details have been shared about it, Red One is expected to premiere in Christmas 2023.

Black Adam is available for streaming on HBO Max.
