Florida Joker Will Not Be Suing Rockstar Anymore
Lawrence Sullivan is a social media ‘celebrity’, who became famous in 2017 after his mugshots went viral. Covered in several facial tattoos and then-green hair, netizens were quick to name him the Florida Joker on Batman’s infamous arch-nemesis and a character he is too fond of himself (via WFLA).
However, the social media celebrity caught the attention of many when he alleged that the new GTA 6 features a character that has been modeled on him in his TikTok account. Even though the character has different facial tattoos and purple hair, even netizens remarked on the similarity.
After demanding $2 million in damages for taking his likeliness and life and threatening to sue Rockstar Games, he is back again in a new TikTok video, this time demanding that he must be given the chance to voice the character.
“GTA, Rockstar, Take-Two, we gotta talk. I’m not suing y’all no more, but y’all still out your goddamn nuggets. It’s been two whole months. Y’all still haven’t reached out to me. Still haven’t DM’d me. Let’s do what’s right. Show me like $50,000, $100,000. Let me voice the character.”
Florida Joker further alleged that it was because of him that the game is so famous now and should be allowed to be in meet and greets with fans when the game is released.
Florida Joker States GTA 6 Is Popular Because Of Him
The trailer of GTA 6, despite the leak, went on to break numerous viewing records Just in 24 hours, the trailer had reached over 93 million views on YouTube, breaking all previous records for the debut of a non-music video (via Variety). Furthermore, it even went on to reach more than 100 million views in just two days, a huge record seeing that its predecessor, GTA 5 only managed to achieve the feat in about 12 years (via IGN).
Given its huge popularity, Florida Joker alleged in a TikTok video that it was because of him that the game was gaining such humongous popularity.
“Every news outlet covered me on the game. Everyone knows who I am, trust me. So GTA, Rockstar, we gotta talk… I’m making the game more relevant. People want to play it. I’m the reason the game is so hype right now.”
