In 2011, Macht was cast in the legal drama Suits. Created by Aaron Korsh, the drama followed the legal battles faced by the firm Pearson Hardman and the professional and personal lives of its employees. It also starred Patrick J Adams and Meghan Markle, before she became the Duchess of Sussex.

Gabriel Macht spoke in an interview with Parade about the show in 2013,

“There’s great writing and a little cliffhanger each week. I really had no expectations, because with most things I’ve done, I’ve felt like, ‘People are going to be into this.’ And they weren’t. But they really are into Suits.”

Macht starred in the series for all of its nine seasons till 2019.

At its peak, Gabriel Macht’s Harvey Specter was the face of motivational quotes on winning and closing. The character is known for his signature wit and sophistication, as well as his relentless pursuit of victory in the big bad corporate world. Macht brought in the determination of the character who never falls from grace.

However, the actor claims that he is nothing like the character he so perfectly embodied for almost ten years and over 130 episodes. In an interview with Parade, Macht mentioned that he was quite different from the ultra-masculine lawyer. He said,

“I don’t wear beautiful Tom Ford suits like he does. He’s arrogant and narcissistic, and I’m way more vulnerable and sensitive. He says things that most people—like me!—just won’t say… wish I had some of his wit. A lot of my humor is way more obvious.”

While Gabriel Macht may not be anyway similar to his on-screen alter-ego Harvey Specter, he certainly convinced the entire world that he was the character.
