Luffy, before engaging in a fight with the CP0 agent, did something instinctively that reminded Attack on Titan fans of Eren Jaeger, the protagonist of Hajime Isayama’s series. Although the action was quite different, it had the same intensity as Eren and led fans to believe that the Captain of the Straw Hat Pirates was trying to imitate Eren Jaeger.

As soon as the episode was released, fans were quick to notice the imitation and took to X(Formerly Twitter) to show their excitement about Luffy copying their favorite character, Eren.

Straw Hat Luffy Tries to Copy Eren Jaeger’s Iconic Move

One of Eren Jaeger’s most iconic scenes is from Attack on Titan season 4 episode 12, when he escapes the prison and meets the Jaegerists. He is given a jacket by Floch Foster, which he wears stylishly, and orders the Jaegerists to find out where his brother Zeke is. The way he wore his jacket was so iconic that it not only became one of his most popular moments but also a meme.

Years later, when the One Piece episode 1100 aired on April 6th, Luffy was seen kind of imitating a similar thing. The only difference was that he was removing his jacket which he got at the beginning of the Egghead Island arc. Luffy was getting ready to fight Rob Lucci by getting into the Gear 5 mode.

The battle was one of the best fights of One Piece. It showed a new perspective of Luffy’s Gear 5 and the awakened form of Lucci’s cat cat Devil Fruit to One Piece anime fans. However, fans were much more concerned about Luffy’s way of removing his jacket and imitating Eren Jaeger.

The general opinion among the fans was that Luffy did a better job than Eren Jaeger and he looked much more cooler than Attack on Titan’s protagonist.

However, the Attack on Titan fans were happy rather than jealous about the fact that Luffy tried to copy Eren. Many fans stated that even though the series has ended, the impact of Attack on Titan and Eren Jaeger is still present in the anime and manga world.
