That’s right, Immortals of Aveum is about to complete four months since its launch and those responsible are already preparing and exciting fans for a possible upcoming addition of the game to game subscription services such as PS Plus and Game Pass. Immortals of Aveum wasn’t a great first release for Ascendant Studios as with the overwhelming number of releases, it was difficult for any game to leave a good impression. This was the case here as the low amount of sales led to layoffs in the studio and a low impact on the community, those responsible can only hope that a launch on Game Pass and PlayStation Plus will revive expectations and guarantee a final boost.

Showing anticipation for this, Bret Robbins, CEO of Ascendant Studios, Bret Robbins, says he is almost certain that the game will be brought to both subscription services:

“Certainly, those services give you a wider funnelMore people might engage with the game, that’s always good. We are talking to [Sony and Microsoft] about getting the game onto both of those services. We don’t have a date yet, I’m pretty sure it’s gonna happen, though.”

Bret also attributed the lack of interest in Immortals of Aveum to the avalanche of popular releases in 2023:

“I’ve never seen a year like this,” he said. “It’s always hard to break through the noise when you’re a new IP or a studio people haven’t heard of before. Trying to create awareness for us was really, really difficult. It’s always hard for a new IP and this year made it 10 times harder.”

Immortals of Aveum is a first-person shooter developed by Ascendant Studios and published by Electronic Arts for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S released on August 22, 2023. Specialized critics received the game in a mixed way while sales were low, which caused a wave of layoffs in the project’s developer studio.

Regarding the gameplay of Immortals of Aveum, players control Jak, a sorcerer who joins an elite order of warrior mages to save a planet on the brink of the abyss using around 25 available spells, whether offensive or defensive, which can be red, blue or green. In addition, there is the classic skill tree with more than 80 improvement options and a campaign lasting approximately 25 hours.
