However, in a recent Twitter post, an Industry pundit named Scott Mendelson revealed that the sequel to Amber Heard’s Aquaman can beat the likes of many big franchises. In the year 2023 two big franchises, Mission Impossible and John Wick released their latest instalment and both films earned around $563.9 million and $432.2 million, respectively. Even though John Wick 4 is the first film in the franchise to cross $400 million Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom can surpass it.

Will Amber Heard starrer Aquaman 2 Beat The Records Of Mission Impossible 7 And John Wick 4

Aquaman 2 will be the last movie of DC Cinematic Universe before the new keeper of DC, James Gunn revives it back to DCU. There is no denying Aquaman is one of the most successful parts of DC and the sequel to it has a coercion to live up to the expectations.

However, in a recent Twitter post by Scott Mendelson, it was revealed that.

“This is just math, but if #AquamanAndTheLostKingdom earns 30% less than its predecessor (a reasonable drop for a sequel) outside of China and earns even $105 million in China (way down from $298 million, because the marketplace is different), it still passes $700 million global.”

Scott Mendelson is a former senior film reporter for The Wrap and is a well-known film expert in the Hollywood industry. He has made the calculations based on the assumptions and the users have a mixed take on it. One of the reasons is in recent times no DC movie has been able to cross $400 million at the box office making an unforgeable question is Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom capable enough to revive it back?

Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom is reported to have a big budget of $205 million and if it crosses the $700 million as claimed by Scott Mendelson it will be something exceptional for DCU. Aquaman 2 stars Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, and the famous Conjuring star, Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master.

Can Amber Heard’s Aquaman 2 Change The fate of DC Movies

Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom is more about bromance action and adventure and the concept has already been well-received among DC fans. However, keeping Amber Heard in the film post-Depp and Heard’s trial is a risky move according to many fans. However, James Wan isn’t worried about it and thinks the film can be a commercial success even after so many hurdles.

If we consider just the films Of DCU that were released in the year 2023 we have a total of three films named, Blue Bettle, Shazam! Fury of The Gods and The Flash. Among these three films, the sequel of Shazam and The Flash were the most anticipated ones from the DC Universe. However, going through the box office report it is quite evident that none of the films lived up to the expectations and resulted in a disaster. Shazam! The Fury of The Gods earned around $132 million globally and The Flash earned $267 million globally on the other hand Blue Bettle has made $114 million and still counting but not enough to gain the tag of hit.
