When gamers think about Insomniac Games and its incredibly popular Marvel’s Spider-Man games, it leaves many gamers wondering about the potential for future games that could take place within the Spider-Man universe that Insomniac could create once Spider-Man 2 is released.
Now, thanks to Reddit, we are able to see some of the thoughts from the Marvel’s Spider-Man community regarding what they hope could potentially be in the works sometime in the future.
What Other Insomniac Universe Spin-Offs Could We See In The Future?
When it comes to the Spider-Man universe, there are a lot of stories that can be told, but for some gamers, there are a few specific stories that they would like to see come to their consoles sometime in the future, and thanks to Reddit, we now have a list of some of the most requested storylines that players would love to see brought to life by Insomniac Games. Below is a list of five different stories that Reddit users have discussed and that look interesting, to say the least.
Spider-Man Origins
Everyone who knows Peter Parker’s Spider-Man knows his origin story, but for some gamers, they feel it would be a nice change of pace to take a rewind in the Insomniac Spider-Man universe and see how this version of Spider-Man came to be who he is today. This could open up a whole new avenue for players to explore Peter Parker’s story.
As we have already seen, Insomniac Games goes all out regarding the current stories for Spider-Man, and to see how they portray the origins of Spider-Man would be an interesting and most likely sad experience, which has become a staple of the franchise as so far each game has ended on some form of sad note.
The main aspect that people want to see regarding Spider-Man origins is based on gameplay, as they would like to see a more childish Peter Parker who is still in high school, struggling to balance his daily life and being Spider-Man. while also adding more flare and fun to the web swinging as Peter goes back to learning the ropes just like Miles Morales in his solo game.

Venom
Another story that many gamers are hoping to see one day is a solo Venom game. The reasoning behind this is that over the recent years, Venom has been receiving a lot more attention from Marvel fans, as there have now been two solo Venom films that were positively received by fans, and now Venom is making an appearance in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Even though within Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, we will see some form of backstory regarding Venom, players are hoping that Insomniac will create a new universe for a Venom storyline that allows players the opportunity to take control of the chaotic symbiote as they rampage through New York, causing chaos for the residents who live there.
The main question that would be asked regarding a Venom game would be if it would be more focused on Venom being a villain and the player having to take on the role of being the villain, or will the story follow the same lines as the films and turn Venom more into a vigilante who will still kill people, but do it for the right reasons?
For now, many Reddit users are just hoping that a future Venom game will be in development and could potentially follow the films by having numerous Symbiotes fight for supremacy within New York in a form of gang war to see which Symbiote comes out on top. This could lead to some interesting combat encounters and abilities, as we have already seen some interesting abilities from Venom within Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 trailers.
Spider-Man 2099
With the new Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse film that has been released this year, many fans of the wall crawler have now been exposed to so many ideas regarding future game concepts. The main concept that has caught the eye of many gamers is a Spider-Man 2099 game, which could change the entire way that gamers see Spider-Man.
The first thing players think of when it comes to Spider-Man 2099 is the tall neon buildings that seem to reach indefinitely into the sky and can create an all-new form of maneuverability for Spider-Man, as players will be provided with all new options to explore. Another feature that could be implemented is the use of flying cars, which can potentially be used to drag the player through the skies and create all new combos for players to utilize.

Regarding the story Spider-Man 2099, there are a few theories from fans as to what the story could be, as some believe that if Insomniac gave it the same love and care that they have given to the current Spider-Man universe, then there could be some interesting moments within the story that could cause a lot of chaos for players but will also be unique and exciting to see.
Spider-Gwen
Another character that has become popular recently due to the success of the Spider-Man Into/Across the Spider-verse films is Spider-Gwen, and due to this popularity, many gamers have been hoping that Insomniac Games could create a game for her, which can give players a whole new perspective on the game as Spider-Gwen is rather unique in the Spider-Man franchise.
Regarding the story, there would be a few different options that Insomniac Games could follow, but one that would intrigue most players is similar to Spider-Man Origins. The main change to this would be to see Gwen Stacey grow up through high school and take up the mantle of Spider-Gwen with her own origin story.
With Spider-Gwen, there is also the potential for a complete change of New York, as Insomniac Games could decide to alter the world itself to fit in with a new hero, which could add in new exploration locations or even change existing locations to make it into an alternate universe for players to have a fresh start in.
Daredevil
Taking a slight detour from the Spider-Man universe, there are some players within Reddit who have been hoping that there could be a whole new hero added to the city of New York within the Insomniac Games universe, and that is Daredevil.
Over the years, fans of Marvel have been developing a new love for Daredevil as he received his own TV show back a few years ago, which unfortunately was cancelled. Now, with his appearance in She-Hulk and his upcoming Disney+ show, players are wondering if we will get a game adaptation of Daredevil.
This could prove to be a difficult game to develop due to Daredevil’s unique circumstances, but for Insomniac Games, we have no doubt they can work it out, as there is already a Spidey Sense that can be used as an early warning indicator for players that alerts them to danger and a prebuilt parkour system.
Even though these mechanics could prove to be a challenge for Insomniac Games, there are a few features within the Spider-Man games that could also be used for Daredevil, as there is already a Kingpin asset and voice actor. There is already a Murdock Law Firm within the world of Insomniacs New York, which could lead to a lawyer-based aspect within the game itself.
