Daredevil: Born Again is one of the most anticipated MCU shows. When Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk/ Kingpin appeared in Hawkeye, and when Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock/ Daredevil showed up in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk, fans expected a new show that was similar to the Netflix one. Many assumed that other characters, who were a major part of the Netflix series will also make their return. However, recent reports have indicated that MCU’s Daredevil show is going to be completely different than the one before it and this has left fans feeling betrayed.
Marvel Is Recasting Multiple Characters In Daredevil: Born Again
When it was officially announced that Jon Bernthal is returning as Punisher in Daredevil: Born Again, MCU fans thought it was just the beginning. Everyone expected other supporting and major characters would soon reprise their roles as well. But that didn’t turn out to be the case. As per The Hollywood Reporter, Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson, who portrayed Karen Page and Foggy Nelson won’t return to the new show.
Marvel fans were expectedly upset at this exclusion. However, what set the fires blazing was another report by THR. It stated that instead of Ayelet Zurer, who played the character of Vanessa Fisk in the Netflix show, the role was now going to be played by Sandrine Holt. This has confirmed to many the show isn’t an extension or continuation of the Netflix one, but a totally fresh beginning with some old actors. As predicted, many are not happy with this news. One Twitter user said:
“So Daredevil Born Again is a reboot. How could Marvel throw away this perfect show from the MCU, better than literally anything they’ve ever made.”

Various social media platforms are flooded with Marvel fans cursing out the makers of the new MCU show for not bringing every actor in the Netflix show back.
Fans Are Very Upset With Marvel Studios
Daredevil fans are unhappy with Marvel Studios’ decision to not bring back Deborah Ann Woll, Ayelet Zurer, and Elden Henson in their respective roles. Many expressed that while Charlie Cox was the major draw for watching the show, the supporting cast also elevated the series and its mandatory viewing. As such, not bringing them back seems unfair to many.

As of now, it looks like Daredevil: Born Again is going to be a soft reboot with Marvel Studios cherry-picking which actors they will bring back and which they won’t. While we already know which actors are probably not returning, there’s hope that Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones and Mike Colter’s Luke Cage will show up in Charlie Cox’s new MCU show.
Daredevil: Born Again is speculated to release in the Spring of 2024.
