Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, the upcoming supernatural action RPG title from DON’T NOD and publisher Focus Entertainment is set to release on February 13 after a brief delay from its initial release date. The game will be coming on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and PC.
It is one of the highly-anticipated game releases of the year and players are looking to play the game as soon as it hits the market. However, this has also prompted players to wonder if the game will be coming to Game Pass or if they would need to buy the game.
Is Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden Coming on Game Pass?
To answer the burning question of Game Pass subscribers, Ghosts of New Eden is not coming to the subscription service, at least not on day one as no announcement has been made from the publisher or Microsoft. This is not to say that the game will never come to the subscription service as other titles from publisher Focus Entertainment have graced the service.
Moreover, the Life is Strange series from DON’T NOD has also been available on Microsoft’s subscription service and it would be safe to assume that this title might also join the catalog sometime in the future. But it can not be said how long after launch and players looking to play the game will have to purchase it digitally or physically.
The game is a supernatural RPG set in the 17th century in a town called New Eden that is plagued by curses and haunting ghosts. Players will play as ghost hunters/Banishers and lovers, Antea Duarte and Red Mac Raith, and go on a mission against supernatural entities and uncover the mystery behind the haunting cases in the town.
It is revealed that Antea Duarte becomes a spirit on the way, players will still be able to play as her and use her spirit abilities. All the choices that players make will influence the game’s story and affect the world. Every choice that players make will lead to a distinct outcome and have a consequence on the community of New Eden.
Why Was the Game Delayed to 2024?
The game was initially set to launch on November 7, 2023, but developer DON’T NOD announced that it has decided to push the release date to next year on February 13, 2024, due to the intense release of AAA titles that were slated to release during that time. This decision was taken to avoid competition so that the game was not lost among them and received the “attention it deserves.”
The game has captivated players so far with its seemingly immersive storyline, different playstyles, and revealed tough choices. but it remains to be seen how well the game is received upon launch. The excitement for the game was a little down when DON’T NOD announced that the game was delayed but players are still optimistic about the developer giving them an amazing game to enjoy.
