Ever since George Lucas’ Star Wars hit the big screen in the late ’70s, it was groundbreaking enough to gather for itself a global cult-like following from the get-go. The films have now become one of the biggest, most successful franchises in the world, valued at almost $53 billion.

The premise of the original trilogy is set in a galaxy far, far away, where humans and many other alien species coexist with robots. Space travel is common, thanks to lightspeed hyperspace technology. To think of this being depicted as it was on the big screen back in the ‘70s even with CGI (keeping in mind that it wasn’t as advanced back in the day as it is now) and forced perspective to whatever extent the makers could, is nothing short of miraculous.

Vader’s comeback in the upcoming two-episode series premiere

Darth Vader was last seen on screen in the somewhat well-received Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi, a prequel to the original trilogy written and directed by George Lucas. The Sith lord is seemingly making a comeback in the highly anticipated two-episode series Ahsoka, based on the titular character, who also happens to be a disciple of the Chosen One.

The newly released Ahsoka trailer features a Darth Vader Easter egg. In the trailer, if heard closely, one can hear Darth Vader’s iconic breathing. This essentially questions the possibility of this cameo as Ahsoka is set after Darth Vader’s death in Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.

The former Jedi turned against her master.

However, there have been rumors that the series may include flashbacks or visions of Ahsoka confronting Vader. This would be a logical choice, as Ahsoka and Vader fought on the planet Malachor in the animated series Star Wars Rebels. A flashback to this duel would allow the series to explore Ahsoka’s feelings about Vader and her role in his fall to the dark side.

An Overview of the Star Wars Universe

The planets in the Star Wars universe range from wealthy, planet-wide cities to deserts populated by primitive tribes. Virtually any Earth biome has its counterpart in the Star Wars universe, and many of these planets are brimming with sentient and non-sentient alien life. Spacecrafts range from small starfighters to huge capital ships, such as Star Destroyers. Telecommunication in the Star Wars galaxy includes two-way audio and audiovisual screens, holographic projections, and the HoloNet, which is similar to the internet.

The Star Wars universe is generally similar to the real universe, but its laws of physics are less strict, which allows for more imaginative stories. For example, in the Star Wars universe, it is possible to travel faster than the speed of light and to use the Force, a mysterious energy field that can be used for telekinesis, telepathy, and other abilities.

The Star Wars franchise has been incredibly popular since its inception in 1977, and it has spawned a wide variety of media, including films, television shows, books, comics, and video games. The franchise’s popularity is due in part to its rich and imaginative world-building, its compelling characters, and its epic storylines.

Ahsoka will be available for streaming on Disney+ on August 23, 2023.
