Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece manga has entered its Final Saga following the Wano Country Arc. The Straw Hat Pirates have been successful in defeating Kaido and Big Mom and are even closer to capturing the One Piece treasure. However, the World Government is still on their trail.
Now challenging Luffy and his crew’s notoriety is one of the Five Elders of the World Government – Saint Jaygarcia Saturn. The Warrior God of Science and Defense has shown incredible durability with seemingly absolute mastery over all forms of Haki. When his Zoan-type Devil Fruit is awakened, he takes the form of a spider that is able to withstand a Hiken from Sabo at point-blank range and even make weaker minds ‘explode’ with telekinetic abilities.
Saturn’s complete arsenal of abilities hasn’t been revealed. While it would certainly take a team effort to overpower him, here are five characters who fans think can solo the Warrior God.

1. Roronoa Zoro
Luffy’s right-hand man, Roronoa Zoro has an impressive ability to ‘cut’ things that were previously thought to be impossible. The master swordsman slashed Mr.1’s steel body while inflicting severe injuries to priest Skybreeder Ohm with a Hyakuhachi Pound Ho strike. His resilience, as seen in the Thriller Bark, is also a defining factor.
Despite not being labeled a Yonko, Zoro’s Armament Haki and Observation Haki powers transcend that of an Emperor of the Sea. He will take it as a challenge to cut down Saint Jaygracia Saturn despite his incredible healing powers. Moreover, he has a resolute mind, making Saturn’s telekinesis ineffective.

Gear 5 Luffy bested Kaido with his Awakened Devil Fruit abilities, using ‘Toon Force’ to make his opponent’s durability turn into rubber. He sent the pirate so far underground that the latter ended up in a magma chamber. However, Oda hasn’t confirmed Kaido to be dead, unlike Big Mom.
Kaido’s Zoan-type Devil Fruit gives him the ability to transform into an azure dragon. While in this form, his control over Armamnent and Conqueror’s Haki increases tenfold. His impenetrable hide and strong mind mean he can give Jaygarcia Saturn a run for his money, especially if he is somehow able to take a magma-coated form.
3. Enraged Shanks
Shanks is considered the strongest Yonko in One Piece. He is able to predict the future attacks of an enemy with his Killer Observation Haki before blasting them away with Conqueror’s Haki or a sword laced with Armament Haki. His mastery of all forms of Haki is considered insurmountable in the One Piece universe.
Red-Haired Shanks one-shot Eustass Kid, landed a strike on Prime Kaido, and has hinted at being on par with the strength of Whitebeard and Dracule Mihawk. Meanwhile, Oda has given only glimpses of the Yonko’s enraged form. If Saturn inflicts a fatal blow to Gear 5 Luffy, the father figure Shanks won’t hesitate to destroy the Elder with every ounce of his Haki powers.
4. Monkey D. Luffy (Gear 5 form in One Piece)
Having unlocked advanced forms of Haki in his Gear 5 state, Luffy is able to coat himself in a lethal combo of Armament and Conqueror Hakis. This is complemented by his ability to negate the opponent’s defenses with Toon Force. Each punch or kick holds devastating damage such that Jaygarcia Saturn will take years to heal himself from the injuries.
Gear 5 Luffy’s seemingly transcendental powers have been compared to that of the Sun God Nika – the liberator of the Buccaneers. It makes all the more sense that he should be the one to squash Saint Jaygarcia Saturn. The only drawback is that his Monkey God form consumes a lot of energy, and in a long fight, Luffy might struggle to take down Saturn, but it isn’t something that Dr. Vegapunk cannot solve with his spectacular inventions.
5. Monkey D. Dragon
The Final Saga is most likely to mark the return of Monkey D. Dragon, Luffy’s father. Leader of the Revolutionary Army, the ‘Rebellious Dragon’ left his family and prioritized his goal of taking down the established order. It is only fitting that he joins Luffy when the latter squares up against the Five Elders of the World Government.
Dragon seems to be setting up for a showdown with Imu, having assessed that the destruction of Lulusia was executed via an Ancient Weapon on the latter’s orders. He would also have a bone to pick with the secretary of defense, Jaygarcia Saturn, who allowed the event to occur.
Little is known about Monkey D. Dragon’s powers although the World Government deeming him the ‘World’s Worst Criminal’ means they view him as a major threat to their existence. Oda could be saving his true level of powers for the end while a mere hint of it was seen in Loguetown, when the Dragon bought strong gusts of wind and seemingly invoked lightning to save his son from execution.
