In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Pedro Pascal mentioned that he believed he was called a ‘Daddy’ because of his penchant for playing fatherly roles. He said,

“I am having fun with it…It seems a little role-related. There was a period where the Mandalorian is very daddy to baby Grogu, and Joel is very daddy to Ellie. These are daddy parts. That’s what it is.”

While his reasoning was innocent, the actor seemed to have leaned into the persona as he was seen acknowledging it in multiple other interviews (such as ET). Pedro Pascal was cast in another role of a responsible leader in the upcoming MCU film Fantastic Four, where he will be playing Mr. Fantastic.

Actor Pedro Pascal is not the only Marvel actor to have been called ‘Daddy’ by the Internet. While many Marvel stars such as Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans have been thirsted after by fans, Jessica Jones star David Tennant recently called himself a ‘Daddy’. In the interview with Attitude, the actor spoke about his familiarity with queer-friendly terms and subcultures. He said,

“I’ve heard of bears — that’s an old-school one, isn’t it? And ‘Twinkies’? Oh, and daddy. Is that what I would be? I’m an ally, rather than an active participant.”

The Doctor Who star has been a vocal ally for the LGBTQ+ community for a long time and has always made clear about his stance. David Tennant has supported the movement for decades and has come out in support of the community in various ways. According to The Pink News, the Harry Potter star wore a trans-flag-themed TARDIS badge to raise funds for charity.

David Tennant has also stood up against homophobic bullying and has shown his support against trans bullying online. Through his show Good Omens, he spread the message of inclusivity. In the show, his character Crowley, a demon shares a kiss with the angel Aziraphale, played by Charlie Sheen. In the Radio Times podcast, the actor said,

“It’s a show about an angel and demon finding common ground, about two polar opposites helping each other out and making life easier…That’s why this show connected with a certain group of people. There is an inclusivity to the world view of Good Omens, there’s a joy in celebrating whoever you happen to be.”

The noted actor’s association with the movement and vocal support has earned him the term ‘Daddy’, although it may not be in the ‘traditional’ sense.
