To this date, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 remains a highly praised game on Steam, unlike the series’ soft reboot. Soap did die in 2011’s Modern Warfare 3, but at least he got a heroic death back in the day, not a waste like an NPC, which is exactly what the developers did in the latest Call of Duty title. Now that it proved a big disappointment, some fans were seen picking a debate over the original MW3, just for fun.
Call of Duty Devs Forgot to Mention John Cena in the Credits
It happens when MI5 is giving a whirl to get things done and dusted during the seventh mission of Modern Warfare 3, Mind The Gap, where players assume the role of Sgt. Marcus Burns from the 22nd SAS Regiment. The team is trying to get their hands on a truck suspected of carrying a bomb. Everything goes according to plan except for one thing, they intercept the wrong truck.
And this is where the fans on social network Reddit are stuck, as no one is driving that truck. It has now become one of the biggest Modern Warfare mysteries.
[MW3] Is This The Biggest COD Mystery??

One Redditor dubbed QueenCrust presented a viable argument for this and suggested it wasn’t actually a mystery.

If that was the case, then Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games didn’t quite think things through. Gamers can be tricky.
It’s What Transpires After The Mission That is Gut-Wrenching
As soon as the mission is completed, the game cuts directly to the eighth mission, called ‘Davis Family Vacation.’ It’s primarily cinematic but can be skipped akin to No Russian from Modern Warfare 2 (2009), putting down to the disturbing content that follows. The truck that MI5 was after, appears on the scene, killing the civilians and triggering a global conflict.
Only if they had gotten the right one would the Davis family have been planning on the next. But then again, it would’ve been the end of the campaign all along, and maybe Soap and Sandman would still be alive. But as they say, conflicts make great stories, and Modern Warfare 3 had one.
The (G)old days that Call of Duty once relished are seemingly gone. It’s a question of how far Activision will go to bring them back. Fans are awaiting Activision’s next entry in the franchise, which is said to be taking place in the Black Ops timeline, maybe it can restore the lost glory of the game.
