Tom Holland is seemingly obsessed with Zendaya. The two were papped smooching in a car and have been an internet sensation ever since. However, the actor wasn’t always smitten with his gorgeous Marvel co-star. In fact, one upon a time, the Spider-Man actor wanted Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff to be Peter Parker’s love interest.
Tom Holland’s Crush On Elizabeth Olsen
In a 2017 interview with British GQ, Tom Holland revealed that he was fond of Elizabeth Olsen and thought that she was pretty hot. The interviewer asked him who would he pick to be Spider-Man’s love interest from the Marvel universe. Holland praised Olsen and answered:
“I think Scarlet Witch is pretty hot, you know? I think Elizabeth Olsen is super hot and really nice as well. She was really nice to me at the premiere. So yeah, probably Scarlet Witch.”
Tom Holland’s first MCU appearance was in Captain America: Civil War while Elizabeth Olsen’s was in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Both of their Marvel characters don’t have much of a relationship with each other. It’s doubtful if they have even talked to each other. Spider-Man and Scarlet Witch last shared screen space in Avengers: Endgame during the climactic fight against Thanos. Over the years, Holland’s appreciation for Olsen hasn’t lessened. In fact, it has only increased.
Tom Holland Loves WandaVision
In 2021, during an interview with Collider, Tom Holland confessed that WandaVision was his favorite Marvel show and he was absolutely obsessed with it. He said:
“I am obsessed with ‘WandaVision’. It’s so difficult because obviously, I’m on a Marvel set at the moment. So all of the producers are there, and I could just go up to Kevin Feige and be like, ‘So what happens? What’s going on?’ It’s really difficult for me to not ask the questions I want the answers to, but I’m loving it. And I think, honestly, it’s for me, my favorite Marvel thing I’ve seen.”
In another GQ magazine interview, Holland credited Elizabeth Olsen for helping him set better work-life boundaries. As per the actor, Olsen helped him understand that he could say no whenever he was uncomfortable with something. Holland said:
“She (Elizabeth Olsen) gave me an amazing piece of advice: ‘No’ is a full sentence … ‘No’ is enough.”
However, Holland’s admiration for Olsen doesn’t mean that he is neglecting his real-life girlfriend, Zendaya. In fact, far from it, they are spending more time together. Recently, the two skipped the Oscars and instead spent time together in the UK with his mother. But MCU fans will surely want to see Olsen and Holland share screen space again. However, no one is sure when that might be, although the next Avengers team-up film is probably the best bet.
