Hajime Isayama wrote his name amongst the greatest mangaka with Attack on Titan. A decade-long journey full of mind-boggling twists took the anime to great heights. A successful spree has helped the anime gain millions of followers. Recently, the entire Attack on Titan fandom was criticized for their egotistical comments. They compared Hajime Isayama with Isaac Newton in a social media post.
Everyone has a favorite anime and would do anything to defend it or highlight the mangaka. Sometimes, a lack of logic in opinions can escalate matters. The same thing happened with the Attack on Titan fandom. Social media users did not find it amusing. They are bashing them for going out of line with the comparison.
Hajime Isayama Will Be Vexed With Attack On Titan Fandom
Attack on Titan is a masterpiece, and people can hardly argue with that. A great mangaka and a great story do not necessarily justify a great fandom. There are multiple examples when anime fanbases went out of line with their comparisons. Most of the time, it starts with hot debate sessions. Unknowingly, these debates might take a turn, and incorrect opinions start to roll. Attack on Titan has become the latest fandom to join that list.

One of the X (formerly Twitter) users posted a quote saying, “Sir Isaac Newton was only 223 when he discovered the law of gravity.” An AoT fan replied, “Isayama was 19 when he gave us an attack on Titan.” The unnecessary comparison raised multiple eyebrows. Sir Isaac Newton is considered a genius and is one of the most respected individuals ever.
Isayama also boasts massive popularity, but their comparison seems unnecessary. More than unreasonable, many found it to be their egos speaking. Discovering gravity is a major milestone in human history. Newton discovered gravity in 1666, and people still remember it after more than 3.5 centuries.
On the other hand, Hajime Isayama’s chef-d’œuvre is a means of entertainment. Many anime fans do not know popular 1990s and 2000s anime like Great Teacher Onizuka, Monster, Code Geass, etc. The same thing can happen with AoT after a couple of decades. It is justified to defend one’s favorite anime, but logic should always be present.
People Have Bashed Attack on Titan Fans On Social
Hajime Isayama did not begin Attack on Titan at 19 years old. At 20, he created the Human vs. Titan One-Shot manga. AoT was created much later. It seems to be a case of misinformation that gave rise to such a controversy. But social media users did not wait to find the mistakes. Several people wrote degrading comments regarding Attack on Titan. They pointed out how the ending was not up to the mark, including the last-minute changes.

And at 19 you were (still are) banger hunting on X dot com

That's not true, he published the Human vs Titan one-shot in 2006 when he was 20, in other words, at that time he didn't know that AoT had the potential to be a long-running series. At 19 he didn't even know who Eren was 😂

No wonder the ending was so shit. It's literally written by a teenager's edgy brain

Few can match Sir Isaac Newton’s contribution to modern-day science. He left an everlasting impression. Praising someone is always encouraged, but it does not necessarily mean degrading others. There have been many such instances in the past. But the fans should learn from their mistakes and try to be careful for future references.
Attack on Titan can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
