The SAG-AFTRA actors’ strike has taken on a whole new dimension. The strike along with the WGA writers’ strike rages on and on, with the latter nearing the 100-day mark as well. And no end seems in sight either. Not to mention, this has far-reaching repercussions for everyone in the industry. Various stars are beginning to feel the heat of these protests with the likes of Sylvester Stallone complaining that their paychecks are being held back because of the strike.
The impact of the SAG-AFTRA strike is being felt
When the Screen Actors Guild (SAF-AFTRA) began the strike, little did anyone know the proportions it would take. Hollywood has been shaken to its core. The industry has never witnessed a strike of this scale before. These circumstances do not bode well at all. For the industry, that is.
Countless projects stand delayed, including Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool 3 and the sequel to Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse amongst other movies. The economic burden is being felt by a lot of them. Negotiations are going on between the striking parties and major studios, but no end is in sight.
Jamie Lee Curtis walks the tightrope
No wonder a host of stars have elicited their opinion on this controversial topic. Zachary Levy found himself in quite the storm for doing so, later on clarifying that he had always backed the protest. No one wants to be caught up in this storm at all.
Jamie Lee Curtis seems to be aware of this. That is why she tried to walk the tightrope on this one. The Everytime Everywhere All at Once star said,
“We’re all gonna have to give up something to get something. I don’t like the them vs us … [it] bothers me.”
Looks like someone was trying to play the diplomat.
Fans blast Jamie Lee Curtis
Jamie Lee Curtis further said,
“I believe in a settlement, I believe that both sides want a settlement… nobody is going to be happy. None of us are going to be going ‘yay!'”
Twitterati was not satisfied with the comments and raised their objections.
When you’re neutral, you’re taking the offender’s side.

Americans need to drop this mentality. It’s why we have a horrible bipartisan government.

They were quick to show her the mirror for supporting the side which holds power.
It is quite literally true. If you see oppression and not only not say nothing but try to win the oppressed to a more palatable position for the oppressor that is literally what is happening. It is right to rebel.

Some users pointed out how the Blue Steel star had got the problem all wrong.
Nope. This isn’t a “us verses them” it’s about common decency and fairness. Anyone who thinks that the already obscenely rich executives should get away with what they have isn’t normal.

this is not us vs them. it’s about right and wrong. it’s about exploitation of workers and lack of consent. they pay their workers bare minimum and take scan of actors body and facial without consent and pay

Safe to say that being the diplomat has not yielded the effect she thought it would have.
