“I would tell people we’re going to sort of do Batman but take him seriously. I had tons of people laugh at me and just say, ‘Well, that’s just not going to work at all.’

It’s wonderful to be a part of a trilogy that proved those people wrong. I’m not certain if it kickstarted the Marvel Cinematic Universe but it certainly helped along the way.”

During an interview with The Washington Post, Christian Bale revealed that when the team was forming a plan for The Dark Knight Trilogy, many would laugh about it and deem it a failure. But the fact that the franchise turned out to be the best Batman movies to be ever made was a direct slap to their face.

Moreover, he shared that although he is quite not sure, this project might have kickstarted the MCU, and even if it did not kickstart the franchise, it had a role to play in the amount of success the franchise has nowadays. It is not only for MCU, but The Dark Knight Trilogy has also changed the entire comic universe in many ways.

With actors like Christian Bale, Cillian Murphy, Morgan Freeman, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Michael Cane, Gary Oldman, and Heath Ledger the franchise was already set to be a mega-blockbuster.

The ratings for the movies were also very high and it took home numerous awards, some of them being the Academy Awards, the BAFTA Awards, the Critics Choice Awards, the Golden Globes, the MTV Movie + TV Awards, and many others with countless other nominations.
