Now, when you work with some people for a long time, you are bound to get attached to them. That’s what seems to have happened with Bella Ramsey, who plays Ellie, and Pedro Pascal, who plays Joel. Bella Ramsey played the character of Lady Catherine in the Catherine Called Birdy adapted from a novel of the same name. Talking to USA Today about the film, she branched off from the topic to talk about The Last of Us. At that moment Ramsey talked about how the HBO series was a “big part of” her life. She then addressed her co-star, Pedro Pascal.

After season one called for a wrap-up, Pascal wrote a heartfelt card for Ramsey talking about the interesting and life-changing thing that happened in her life at the young age of nineteen.

“It was such a big part of my life. I shot for a whole year, which is quite a long time when you’ve only lived for 19 years. Pedro wrote a little card to me at the end, saying, ‘How interesting that something so huge and life-changing should happen so early in your life and so late in mine.’ I thought it was a really sweet observation and I just had the best time.”

It looks like the two had a great time working together on the sets of The Last of Us. The relationship between Ramsey and Pascal could remind one of the relationship between Ellie and Joel. While Ellie and Joel were nothing but strangers to each other at the beginning of the video game, they eventually warm up to each other. We cannot wait to see more of both the on-screen and off-screen bonding!

Ramsey had a blast working on the sets of The Last of Us and she is grateful for the people she worked with for that. Talking to Screen Rant, Ramsey stated that while it was the longest she had shot for a show in her life, the experience was worth it. She added that because of the “solid and special” friendships she made on the set made it “really hard to say goodbye to everybody at the end.” She then raved on about Pascal, terming him an incredibly generous person.

And working with Pedro was so fun. He’s hilarious. He’s probably one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. He’s also incredibly generous. That’s the word that comes to mind when I think of Pedro. He’s so generous with his words, with his time, and with his actions. He’s just a super cool person to be around, and he definitely made the set a fun place to be. We had a lot of great conversations.”

Well, we hope the great conversations continue when the two return to shoot for The Last of Us season two. If you didn’t know, The Last of Us has been officially confirmed for a second season!

The Last of Us is available to stream on HBO Max and new episodes drop every Sunday!
