Released in 1993, Last Action Hero, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger was released in theaters across the world. The movie was considered to be a major flop for the actor and barely managed to earn a little amount of profit. The Predator actor was quite devasted by the loss as he recalled the journey in Netflix’s recently released docu-series titled Arnold.

“When Last Action Hero came out I had reached my peak after Terminator 2, having the most successful movie of the year worldwide. I cannot tell you how upset that I was. It hurts you. It hurts your feelings. It’s embarrassing.”

The Last Action Hero star further added,

“I didn’t want to see anyone for a week. But you keep plodding along. And my mother-in-law also said this all the time: ‘Let’s just move forward.’ It’s a great message.”

During that time, veteran director James Cameron called him and tried to uplift the actor. According to Cameron, he had never heard Schwarzenegger sound so low!

“He sounded like he was in bed crying. He took it as a deep blow to his brand. I think it really shook him. I said, ‘What are you gonna do?’ He said, ‘I’m just gonna hand out by myself.’ That’s the only time I’ve ever heard him down.”

Following the failure of the Last Action Hero, Arnold Schwarzenegger quickly got back up on his feet and went to work the next day. 1994 was the year that everything would change for the better once again when Schwarzenegger and James Cameron decided to reunite!

With the passage of time, the actor is still going at it with the release of his recent action series titled FUBAR. The series was recently released on 25th May 2023 and has received quite a positive reaction for Arnold Schwarzenegger. As for the docu-series, Netflix released it in three parts with the title being Arnold. FUBAR and Arnold, both the series are available to stream on Netflix.
