What Comment Did Elizabeth Olsen Make About Her Co-star

At the MTV Movie & TV Awards 2021, something exciting unfolded as Elizabeth Olsen from WandaVision and Anthony Mackie from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier had a fun reunion. While Mackie was being interviewed by MTV’s Josh Horowitz, Olsen playfully joined in by photobombing her fellow Marvel actor on the red carpet.

While walking past Mackie, Olsen said to one of the paparazzi, “I was trying to wave to you, but it’s black.” Anthony Mackie saw the opportunity to crack a joke, which made the actress sound like she made a racist comment about the actor. “What did you say about me?” Mackie said.

Elizabeth Olsen instantly realized that her comments could be taken in a racist way and expressed her regret. However, Anthony Mackie hugged her and cleared that he was joking. While the duo had fun on the red carpet, they also walked away with some trophies at the MTV Movie & TV Awards 2021.

“[The decision] came about sort of as the series was launching, but it was something we were thinking about even as we were making it — not because we think, ‘Oh my God, it’s so great,’ but because it does feel a bit more dramatic than some of our typical stuff,” Marvel producer Nate Moore said about WandaVision’s awards chances. “As this is sort of our first foray into television, even if it’s Disney+, we thought it was appropriate for what the show is trying to tackle.”

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and WandaVision are both available for streaming on Disney+.
