The plotline and official indication of the storyline for MCU’s Deadpool 3 have not been confirmed. However, the recent casting of characters from Fox’s superhero universe makes it looks like some sort of Rated-R superhero horror is on the way.

Seeing the casts of the film from Fox’s X-Men and Elektra has given a somewhat clear indication of Deadpool is on a killing spree of his former home characters which could expand into a multiversal chaos. Whatever it may be, some X-Men characters are reprising their roles in the film and it would be exciting to see a collision of Deadpool with the characters in it.

Following the 2012, Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe series written by Cullen Bunn and illustrated by Dalibor Talajić it can be assumed that Deadpool will be on a killing spree across the universe. He does not spare anyone in the series.

However, the story does not come from the current Marvel Universe but from Earth-12101- a world pretty much identical to it. “We start with the x-men checking Deadpool into an insane asylum against his will, unfortunately, the head of the Institute Dr. Bryden is actually the villain psycho man piloting a robot body,” Marvel’s official story explained.

The psycho man’s plan involves brainwashing all the villains of the Marvel Universe and turning them into an army to conquer the universe. But it all went wrong with his plan for Deadpool as a new voice ‘kill everyone’ was embedded in his head and soon he killed off the psycho man and went on a murderous rampage.

Although the adaptation of the series is theoretical at this point, a portion of it could happen in the movie as characters of the Fox superhero universe are reportedly flooding the scene of the Rated-R film.

Beyond the what-if scenario, it would make sense for MCU to kill off the X-Men universe. Disney’s accusation of  20th Century Fox’s entertainment assets including the previously Fox-owned Marvel characters also clears the fact that Disney is working on new reboots. So, it is likely that the studio may kill off the previous characters of the Fox superhero universe. And what better way to bid farewell to the characters other than the cataclysmic collision with Deadpool?

Being Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in the picture it is a possible hint at the adaptation of the comic series on screen. So, far Wolverine’s role in the film has not been confirmed but the recent reports of Sir Patrick Stewart’s return as Professor X and Sir Ian McKellen’s reprising Erik Lehnsherr aka Magneto indicate the same direction.

In the comic series, all the X-Men characters were killed. Even though Professor X attempted to get into Deadpool’s mind, he could not tolerate the chaos erupting in his head and died later. So, is this the end of a $6 Billion franchise? Could be. Deadpool’s rampage also violently murdered the Fantastic Four characters and if the comic adaptation will turn out to be true fans may see the cameos of Chris Evans and co in the film.

The Shawn Levy-directed Ryan Reynolds Rated-R film, Deadpool 3 is scheduled for theatrical release on 3 May 2024.
