Emmy Rossum plays Tom Holland’s mother in The Crowded Room

There are many actors in Hollywood who would have an issue playing the role of a parent in their youth. Even so, playing the role of mother to a grown man, it is a very rare case. However, actress Emmy Rossum is not afraid of challenges and she was quick to take up the role in The Crowded Room.

“It makes sense when I read the script. Candy’s a super young mom, she’s almost a child in her own right when she becomes pregnant at age 16. You watch as I age from 25 to 35, which is actually younger than I am now.”

Talking about the real ages of the actors, Rossum is 36 years old while Holland is 27 years old at present.

Angelyne Fame shared in the interview the reason for taking up the role of Candy in the show,

“The relationship between mother and son and the closeness and everything that they’re grieving in later episodes.”

The actress is also a prominent director, producer, and singer.

The Crowded Room is a 10-episode limited series. It revolves around the life of Danny Sullivan, played by Tom Holland, a man who was arrested with allegations of his involvement in a shooting in New York City in 1979. The psychological thriller story is told through a series of interviews with the interrogator, Rya Goodwin. As Danny’s life story unfolds, it reveals the elements of his mysterious past that made him a certain way. There are several twists and turns in the story, which leads to an unexpected revelation.
