American singer Eddie Vedder has recently made some claims about Taylor Swift’s concerts that might cause a little tumult on the internet. Member of the Pearl Jam musical group, American musician Eddie Vedder is a well-known and celebrated vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter.
With superhit songs like Society, Hard Sun, and Without You, Eddie Vedder is undoubtedly a rare talent to hit the concert stages. It takes one to know one. Likewise, Vedder seems to have an admiring pair of eyes for the world-famous American singer and songwriter, Taylor Swift.
Eddie Vedder Claims Taylor Swift Gives Punk Rock Vibes
Taylor Swift has been a sizzling sensation in the era of modern music. Throughout the world, music lovers have showered immense love on Swift for her musical caliber. The same is the case with Eddie Vedder. He too is now a fan of Taylor Swift’s talent and the positive effects of her shows.
Recently, Vedder’s daughters managed to convince him to join one of the Blank Space singer’s concerts. To his pleasant surprise, Vedder was immediately overwhelmed by the communal atmosphere of the concert.
In an interview with Mojo, the musician said:
“The run-up to it, making friendship bracelets with her and the generosity of these young girls and boys, trading these bracelets with different messages on them – lyrics, song titles, just acts of goodwill on these little bracelets. It reminded me of punk rock crowds, of being aligned with all of the misfits in our town, back in the day. It was galvanizing and powerful.”
Vedder also mentioned how he found a similarity between Swifties and the punk rock fandom of his youth days. It seems like Vedder almost time-traveled back to his golden days. The comparison to the punk rock fans, however, might cause a little disagreement amongst fans.
Taylor Swift Has Broken Records with The Eras Tour
Vedder is right when he praises the crowd culture owned by Taylor Swift. The fans of Taylor Swift have found something common, yet precious to agree upon. That’s the craziest deal about Swift as an artist. No doubt her shows are breaking records and setting levels that are going to get difficult to keep pace with.
Take Swift’s recent Eras Tour, for example, a record-breaking 2.4 million tickets (via Grammy) were sold on a single day for just one artist. Interestingly, this number is only the presale figure. According to Pollstar, the tour grossed over $1 billion within eight months, making it the highest-grossing tour to date.
Not just the in-house crowd, many fans sat outside the venue to feel like a part of the show. Fans are referring to this activity as ‘Taylorgating’. Nissan Stadium found it almost out-of-the-hands to handle so much crowd for Swift’s show.
