Space Marine 2 is the next Warhammer 40K game set to release later this Fall. The long awaited sequel is finally making its way to consoles and PC.
Due to the gap between the first game and this new one, fans are wondering if the one major flaw from the original will be fixed. Thankfully, the developers have listened and answered this dying question.
Multiplayer Situation For Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2
Warhammer 40K fans can finally rejoice as the release date is getting closer and closer. The biggest problem from the original game is the multiplayer being peer-to-peer. For anyone who’s played a multiplayer game with this setup, you know it’s not good.

Compared to dedicated servers, the connection for peer-to-peer is reliant on all players having a stable connection which can be iffy. In the upcoming sequel, players don’t have to worry about a P2P connection.
Dedicated servers are confirmed for Space Marine 2 on the FAQ support page. There will be servers in North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia, and Oceania. The team at Saber Interactive has its ground covered in terms of server space.
To those not interested in online play, the game will feature a rich story campaign drawing from the lore of Warhammer. Demetrian Titus returns from the original game as well. Co-op is enabled for the campaign alongside a dedicated mode called Operations featuring multiple classes and abilities.
What To Expect – Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2
From the story campaign to the online modes, players will not be starved for content when release day arrives. The Operations mode could be a solid competitor to Helldivers 2 which has remained on top for PvE multiplayer action. Replayability is encouraged and should provide endless fun for you and your squad.
Space Marine 2 was announced at the end of 2021 during The Game Awards. The team has slowly trickled in new information like a gameplay reveal the following year. This sequel was supposed to happen years ago before the original publisher, THQ, filed for bankruptcy and canceled the project.
Fans have been waiting nearly 13 years for this sequel and it’s dropping on September 9 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. If you wish to unlock 4-day early access for September 5, players must buy the Gold Edition at $89.99.
Players can also get the Ultra Edition or the Collector’s Edition for early access too. The Collector’s Edition features a Titus statue, steelbook, and artbook exclusive to the Focus Entertainment Store. Unfortunately, pre-orders have already sold out on this edition.
