Like any franchise, there’s always a possibility that dead characters may return in the form of prequels or spinoffs. Star Wars does not fall short of these kinds of stories.

The Acolyte Creator Leslye Headland Teases The Future Of Yord And Jecki

In an interview with Jedi News, The Acolyte creator Leslye Headland reveals that it is possible for Yord Fandar and Jecki Lon to return to the fold after their deaths in Episode 5. She also teased that a lot of work productions are currently underway ever since they finished filming the show.

Since wrapping up the season, there’s definitely some stuff that I would love to see come to fruition. Obviously, Vernestra already exists in publishing, so also going to do something there. There was a lot of background done on them both by the actors in the writers’ room.

Headland revealed that there are still many areas that can be explored when it comes to Yord Fandar, played by Charlie Barnett. She continued: “Yord Fandar, I’ve said this before, was a character in a campaign that I played, so there’s a pretty large backstory to him.”

She noted that “it was always the plan to kill them in Episode 5 halfway through the season” as she saw this as a way to expand the characters’ stories in other franchises.

In the process of killing Yord and Jecki, the showrunner thought, “Well, because we didn’t spend a lot of time with them, maybe there’s a way we could keep playing around with them somehow.” Hopefully, there’s a future waiting for these two Jedi figures.

On the other hand, Barnett spoke with Entertainment Weekly and expressed how he truly felt about his character’s death.

No one ever wants to be cut out of a show, but when you’re playing a character that you know is going to die, it’s a little more fun.

He jokingly said that it sucks to be out of a job after he finished his run on the show, but he admitted he knew what he was getting into and he just tried to “find the lemonade through the lemons.”

Star Wars Fans React To Yord And Jecki’s Deaths

Fans were equally devastated to witness the deaths of Yord and Jecki, but they also found it courageous of Headland to kill off her own tabletop role-playing game character. Check out netizens’ reactions below:
