The Red Hulkβ€”The Money Machine?

During a recent interview with Variety (via Discussing Film), Harrison Ford was asked what it took for him to play the live-action version of the Red Hulk. While Thaddeus Ross is a very stoic and smart person, his personality can drastically change when he turns into the Red Hulk. Although the Red Hulk can have his moments, he is certainly not the smartest person in the room.

With this trait in mind, Ford revealed what it was like for him to play the character in Captain America: Brave New World, mentioning that it required him not to care about the fact that he was playing a dumber version of himself. It required him to play an idiotic character for the sake of the money he was going to earn for the role.

After mentioning this, the actor revealed that this experience wasn’t new for him as he had done something similar in the past, nodding to his time playing Han Solo. The Star Wars character was very concerned with money during his first appearances.

Harrison Ford’s Honesty May Have Cost Him

Although many of Harrison Ford’s fans would find his honesty refreshing, others could not help but be slightly offended that he only took the Marvel role because he wanted to earn money. While many actors do end up joining projects for purely financial reasons, it is rare for them to admit it to the world so openly. The reason for this is that such truths come with a lot of backlash.
