Glen Powell Was Too N*ked For Instagram’s Approval

In the romantic comedy Anyone But You, actors Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney shared a sensual chemistry together. Part of their on-screen connection involved many seductive scenes with both actors getting n*de in front of the camera. While Powell was part of a few funny segments that required him to strip down fully, this caused quite a controversy online.

Anyone But you
Instagram pulled down a post of Glen Powell as the picture violated n*dity laws.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the Top Gun: Maverick star elaborated on a strange turn of events in which a friend’s post promoting him and the film was pulled down from Instagram as it violated certain laws involving the exposure of one’s body.

My buddy, Tanner, wanted to post about the movie. His posts got taken down by Instagram because it violated the laws of n*dity or whatever. And I was like, ‘Okay, when a friend’s support post of your movie gets flagged by Instagram, you’ve been too n*ked in the movie.'”

Powell though, took this backlash in his stride and stated that he was always ready to do anything that was required to make a movie better and more relatable.

Glen Powell Learnt The Art Of Being Comfortable With N*dity

One of the most difficult aspects of being on the big screen is to be completely comfortable with exposing one’s body in front of the camera. While many Hollywood stars have looked naturally at ease being n*ked, Glen Powell confessed that he had to learn on the job and develop a comfort level through experience. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the Anyone But You actor spoke of how he approached n*dity in romantic comedies.

Over the course of my life and career, I’ve learned [to be comfortable with it]. I was the kid at the pool that didn’t want to even take his shirt off. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that there’s a time in your life and your career where this is the moment to do those things. And as a rom-com leading man, you are supposed to get taken down as much as humanly possible.”
