With Enola Holmes 2 just a few days away from its premiere release, Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill are seen to be appearing in a lot of interviews about the film. But Henry Cavill’s return as Superman to the DCEU seems to be taking the cake on everything else as it is all anyone can talk about.

Henry Cavill and Millie Bobby Brown recently appeared on the popular chat show, Good Morning America to talk about the sequel of the thriller movie Enola Holmes which is just a few days away from its release. But of course, the host being a Superman fan, couldn’t help but digress a little from the subject at hand to brush open Cavill’s comeback to the DCEU.

It’s no secret that over the years, Cavill has come to form a rather deep attachment with his Superman after playing Man of Steel as the actor himself has admitted that time and again. So when the host of the show got excited about him “putting the cape back on,” he also asked why that character had been of such significance to him.

“The character is special to me because he is the best of what we can be,” the British actor replied. “He is the best of human potential, ironically.” The Immortals star remarked how that particular role had been “a formative part” of his career.

The Witcher star also stated that filming Man of Steel had bestowed him with a real movie-making experience which had ended up becoming a “huge part” of his career that he was grateful for. “And here we are, 12 years later, and it’s back,” Cavill said. “And I get to do that again and I’m incredibly excited about it.”

Rest assured, he’s not the only one thrilled.

Will Henry Cavill put the cape back on in Man of Steel 2?

Now that Cavill has officially returned to the DCEU as Superman, the elephant in the room awaits to be addressed about when fans will get to see Clark Kent on the big screens.

Audience already got a teaser of what’s to come from Superman’s feature in the post-credit scenes of Black Adam. But other than that, there have also been plenty of talks about WB being in the middle of a Man of Steel sequel with the studio actively looking for writers to start with the film’s script.

However, Cavill currently has multiple other projects onboard, so it would be difficult to point out exactly when Man of Steel 2 would kick off.

For the time being though, Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel can be streamed on Disney+.

Enola Holmes 2 hits cinemas on November 4, 2022.
