It is common to picture strict exercise regimens, healthy diets, and balanced lifestyles when we think of celebrities who are dedicated to staying fit. But many people can be baffled by Mark Wahlberg’s confession about his extreme 11,000-calorie diet. The notion that the fitness industry is solely based on scientific principles is ultimately called into question by his non-traditional approach to nutrition, which also raises concerns about its viability. His diet of 11,000 calories, which defies biology, will persuade people to doubt the accuracy of the fitness industry.

Mark Wahlberg Defied The Science Of Bodybuilding

Depending on a number of variables, including age, gender, and degree of activity, our bodies are built to operate at their best within a specific calorie intake range of 2,000–3,000 per day. Our general health may suffer if we stray too far from this range. Given the average person’s daily requirements, Mark Wahlberg‘s 11,000-calorie diet is almost unfathomable, which makes us doubt the validity of such an extreme approach.

Wahlberg starred in the biographical drama Father Stu, helmed by Rosalind Ross, in 2022. He put on almost thirty pounds in just six weeks to prepare for the demanding role. Indeed, he gained “healthy fat” by following a nutritious diet of 11,000 calories per day. During an episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the actor once admitted, saying:

“It was fun for about an hour.”

“Unfortunately, I had to consume, for two weeks, 7,000 calories, and then for another two weeks, 11,000 calories. It’s such a hard, physical thing to do. Losing weight, you just kind of tough it out, you just don’t eat, and exercise.”

In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Wahlberg initially disclosed his weight-gain strategies. He informed the host that he would be “eating lots of burgers and lots of buns” in order to put on the weight.

Wahlberg assumed the role of Stuart Long, a boxer-turned-Catholic priest, in the film directed and written by Rosalind Ross.

A ‘Very Smart’ Professional Was Helping the Actor With His Transformation

It turns out that Mark Wahlberg’s success is largely due to a level of dedication that will wear you out just reading about it. During his interview with Jimmy Fallon, he also revealed that a “very smart” professional was assisting him with the transformation. He continued:

“They want me to do it as healthy as possible and I’m like ‘Dude, I’ve been on such a regimen for so long, I just want to eat everything in sight’.”

Wahlberg went on to discuss his cravings for certain foods, saying:

“I want to go bakeries, I want to go to Denny’s, I want to get pancakes, I want to get everything I can possibly get my hands on.”

Speaking with E!, Wahlberg’s chef, Lawrence Duran, explained that the actor was on a well-planned diet in preparation for Father Stu rather than bulking up on junk food:

“His first breakfast is four eggs – that’s the pre-breakfast. Then, he does his workout and then after the workout, which is usually around 5 to 6 o’clock in the morning, we do eight eggs, six strips of bacon, a cup of rice, two tablespoons of olive oil and a protein shake. It’s his protein-inspired mass weight-gainer to help build on a little more muscle as well.”

When the 2022 biographical drama film was first announced, Deadline stated that it was

“Something very close to Wahlberg’s heart and something he had been developing for a number of years.”
