A lot of actors face wardrobe failures or prop malfunctions on Broadway or in plays and sometimes even the A-listers have to go through a similar situation. Emma Stone once also faced a similar situation back in late 2014 when she replaced Michelle Williams as Sally on the musical Broadway show Cabaret.
Emma Stone and her long-time friend Jennifer Lawrence once appeared in an interview with W magazine and talked about the scariest incidents of their lives. The La La Land actress talked about how she once went blind while playing the role of Sally on the Broadway show, Cabaret.
Jennifer Lawerence talks about the scariest incident of her life
While appearing in an interview with W magazine, Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone were asked about the scariest incident of their life. Lawrence went on to describe the incident when she almost died in a plane crash because of the double engine failure of the plane. She said,
“A double engine failure on a plane so that one’s pretty easy for me. It was like 8 months ago. We were just careening to the ground. I thought we were gonna die but now if I fly, I have PTSD flashbacks. The plane will be landing totally normally to everyone else but to me it feels like we’re careening again so I’ll go [shrieks] and scream.”
Emma Stone talks about how she went blind on a Broadway stage
After Jennifer Lawrence, it was Emma Stone‘s turn to talk about the most scared that she has ever been in life and the actress joked that she was scared like 10 minutes ago. However, the X-Men actress weighed in to come to her friend’s rescue and suggested a Broadway incident. Lawrence said, “What about when both of your contact lenses popped out of both of your eyes at the same time?” Stone jumped in at this point and took the lead of the conversation and said,
“Jen came to see Cabaret and both of my contacts popped out of my eyes. They dragged me off the stage in the dark and she came backstage and I was like, ‘I couldn’t see anything. It was garbage, it was a disaster,’ and she was like, ‘Enough. Enough. I am your dance mom. You need to calm down.'”
Jennifer Lawrence further went on to narrate her side of the story and revealed that she went backstage to congratulate Emma Stone on her good portrayal of Sally in the Broadway show but she was just inconsolable after the incident.
