Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy are among the most popular duos in Hollywood. The two first met while working on Christopher Nolan’s 2010 film Inception and have remained good friends since. The duo would later go on to star in the 2015 action drama The Revenant, which was received pretty well at the box office and by critics as well. And it would also land DiCaprio his first Oscar win for Best Actor.

While Hardy did not win the Oscar, he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 88th Annual Academy Awards. However, the Venom star did not believe he would be nominated for his performance in the film, which would cost him to get a tattoo of his co-star’s liking.

Tom Hardy And Leonardo DiCaprio’s Tattoo Bet

Tom Hardy is undeniably one of the greatest actors in Hollywood. He has given remarkable performances in multiple films, and one such performance also includes portraying the main antagonist in The Revenant, John Fitzgerald, which is also considered one of the best performances of his career.

The 2015 film also earned Hardy his first Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor. However, the Legend actor did not believe that he gave an Oscar-worthy performance in the movie. Unlike him, his co-star and friend, Leonardo DiCaprio, was confident about him getting a nomination at the Academy Awards.

This led them to a bet that if he got nominated, he’d have to get a tattoo of DiCaprio’s liking. During his interview with Vanity Fair, he shared, “It was just one-way,” saying that he knew the Titanic star would never get a tattoo. And it was not a big deal for him, as he was already covered in tattoos.

And he did end up losing the bet, as he got nominated for The Revenant. And his co-star had the design planned for him all along, and the Taboo star would eventually get it tattooed after losing the bet.

Tom Hardy Got the “LEO KNOWS ALL” Tattoo

After losing the bet to Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy got the design he was expected to get. And the Shutter Island star had it planned for him. Hardy shared during an interview that DiCaprio told him to get a “Leo knows everything” tattoo after losing the bet.

However, he shared that it was in “really sh*tty handwriting,” so he asked him to write it properly to get a tattoo of the same. Later in 2018, a fan page of the Peaky Blinders actor shared a snap of the actor with a tattoo on his bicep saying, “LEO KNOWS ALL.”

It wasn’t his first tattoo, as he has at least 18 tattoos, including one of his wife Charlotte Riley’s name. The actor has shared that all his tattoos have a special meaning or memory attached to them. And he also keeps it professional, as they are not visible in his all on-screen performances.

The Revenant is available on Prime Video.
